The puppies had their temperament tests today. We used the Suzanne Clothier book which is based on the Volhard method of puppy temperament tests. The test looks for their reactions to new things in strange surroundings and new people. The pups showed sound, steady temperaments and very forgiving. The boy showed calm confidence, just as we expected. The girl was a bit more reserved with the new surroundings than she is at home, but still very outgoing and happy.
Zonked out after their temperament tests.

The puppies liked Diana, their tester.

The pups have reached their 8 week old birthday! They are full fledged puppies now, very active and funny, full of personality. They have had individual time with all of our adult dogs now and everyone did well with them. James actually loves puppies and is so good with them. He will lay down for them to climb on him and pull his ears, etc. He is such a sweet dog and a good puppy raiser. He's very excited to have puppies in the house again.
We tried to take the traditional 8 week old "puppy stack" pictures today. Of course, it rained...so we took them inside and they didn't come out great. I will post them here, but hope to get better ones in a day or so to replace these. The puppies were a bit too comfortable and wiggly in the house also, which made things even more difficult :)
(Update...check the 9 week page for better stack pictures) ![]()

The boy puppy really likes to sit on the bookshelf. He kept pushing the books off so he could get in there. I finally gave up and just moved all the books off the bottom shelf :)

Here's our sweet little girl relaxing in Bill's arms. An unusually quiet moment for her.
